The painting has some areas of flaking paint and losses in places (most noticeably bottom left) along with some light scuffs and marks.
The frame has several losses to the outer border that have been both retouched with gold paint and also left to see the plaster. There are knocks, scuffs and chips to the corners. The velvet inner border has a gash on the middle right.
